A 12-year old boy is being called a hero after saving the life of a 3-year old toddler from drowning at a hotel pool in Isabella County.

Sheriff Micheal Main says security footage at the Days Inn Hotel in Mt. Pleasant showed the three year old wandering unattended in the pool area and slipping then falling into the water.

Main says the child was in the water for two minutes before the 12-year old boy walked in and immediately pulled the toddler out of the pool with the help from a brother carried him into the hallway and called for adult help.

CPR was performed by the mother of the toddler for about one minute and the child regained consciousness.

The toddler was familiar with the pool and hotel as the parents both work there.
