Officials with the Ferris State University Department of Public Safety are warning students about a scam going around campus.

Police say students are receiving calls from a person claiming to be from Financial Aid.

The caller then threatens the student that if they do not immediately pay over the phone, they will cancel their classes.

Officials say this is a scam and to hang up the phone immediately.

FSU does not accept payment by phone. Payments must be made in-person or online through the secure eBilling portal.

If you believe you have been targeted or if you have provided financial information over the phone, call DPS at (231) 591-5000 to report the incident.
