The Reed City Police Department is asking residents to take the preventative measure and lock their vehicles at night. As always the police are out and patrolling but cannot be in all areas of the city at one time.

Officers were dispatched to a local business area regarding a suspicious situation. The caller reported a
couple of juveniles walking around with flash lights looking in windows. Officers searched the area for the
juveniles who were no longer around. Nothing was found to be damaged, and the business owner reviewed video footage finding no crime had taken place.
Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint at an apartment complex. The matter was unfounded.
Officers met with Mecosta County Deputies on a Warrant arrest custody exchange. The 40-year-old male
was arrested on a DWLS bond violation out of Reed City. He was transported to the Osceola County Jail
and lodged without incident.
Wednesday 6/10 …
Officers responded to a property damage report of a vehicle damaged from a fallen tree branch during the
night by the storms.
Officers responded to a larceny from a home complaint. The matter is under investigation.
Officers were requested to assist CPS on making contact for an interview.
While out on patrol, Officers found a motorist on the side of the road out of gas. The Officer assisted the
driver in getting more gas.

Officers were dispatched to a 2-car personal property damage accident. The vehicles had minor damage andno injuries were reported.
Officer took a complaint of a vehicle that had been entered during the night and the contents moved around. Nothing was taken
Officer took a complaint in regards to a woman loaning her vehicle to a friend so he make a quick trip to the store. After several days the vehicle had not been returned. The woman wished to report the vehicle as stolen. The man did return the vehicle eventually and the woman declined to pursue the matter any further.
Officers received a complaint from a resident in which it was discovered that both of his vehicles were
entered but no items were taken.
Officers received a report of non-stop harassment through text messages from an ex-boyfriend. The woman reported that the individual has been driving by her residence and requested a no trespass order be placed on the man. Officers spoke to the man and advised a warrant for harassment would be requested if he did not stop.
Officer took a complaint of possible prescription fraud. The caller reported that their prescription had already been picked up but they had not given anyone permission to pick it up and it appeared someone had posed as the complainant or was deceptive in picking up the prescription. The matter is under investigation.
Officers were dispatched to a call regarding 4 dogs at large. While waiting for the Animal Control the dogs
were identified by the owner’s family who were out looking for them. The dogs had managed to rattle a gate open. The dogs were returned to their home and the gate locked.
Friday 6/12 …
Officers received a report of a residential burglar alarm. It was determined the neighbor had let a delivery
person in to drop off packages and there was no problem.
Officers arrested a 34 year old male on an outstanding warrant for Possession of Dangerous Drugs. He was lodged at the Osceola County Jail.
Officer received a complaint of damage to a mural. The matter is under investigation.
Officers responded to a complaint of alleged child abuse. Investigation showed that it was a case of the
juvenile having and issue accepting the fact they had to listen to their parent and do what they were told.
Due to deputies being tied up on other calls, officers assisted in transporting an inmate from medical care
back to the jail.
Saturday 6/13 …
Officers received a tamper alarm from a local bank. It was determined there was an authorized technician
there performing service on the ATM.
Officers took a report of a found credit card.
Officer took a complaint of an attempted larceny from a coin operated device. Video and photos of the
suspects are available and the matter is under investigation.
