A tentative agreement has been reached on the states 2011 fiscal year budget, averting a potential governmental shutdown. According to the Detroit News, The deal, hammered out today between Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop, R-Rochester, House Speaker Andy Dillon, D-Redford Township, and State Budget Director Bob Emerson, would include a 3% cut in the budgets for all state departments, as proposed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm. Granholm spokeswoman Tiffany Brown confirmed an agreement had been reached.
