A Leroy man who threatened to blow up the Osceola County Court House is now in more trouble with authorities. Michigan State Police say Danny Vanas Jr. threatened to detonate a bomb in the 77th District Court in Osceola County, targeting at least one court official. Troopers say they were able to conduct a search warrant at Vanas home in Sherman Township and discovered an active meth lab inside. Law enforcement is continuing investigations into the bomb threat and discovered meth lab. Police say it's likely more arrests will be made.

Ferris State University Public Safety officials are investigating a “non-specific” bomb threat phone message that was received after 8 a.m. this morning (Thursday, Jan. 12) in the Business Office in the Timme Center for Student Services on the Big Rapids campus. According to a Ferris Officials, there were no details in the message as to time or location of the bomb threat. Also, there is no reason to believe that the threat is tied to any specific event or circumstance. Public Safety personnel are investigating. They also are conducting building searches across campus.

Lansing Community College's downtown campus will reopen this morning after being closed Thursday afternoon due to a bomb threat. Staff and students were evacuated off campus shortly after noon and police began sweeping campus buildings. College officials did not announce the nature of the threat. All other LCC campuses remained open. (MRN)
