Elderly Cadillac woman dies from injuries sustained in accident Friday

A 91-year old Cadillac woman who was involved in an accident Friday in Wexford County has died. Sheriff Deputies say Mae Ella King was pulling out of her driveway when she went into the path of a bus carrying 35 kids and two adults. The driver of the bus attempted to maneuver around King's car but unable to avoid impact.

Cadillac woman charged in husband's murder

A former Cadillac woman is jailed in Kentucky, in connection with the death of her husband. Police say Jessie Goslyn is one of two people charged with murder in the shooting death of Goslyn's husband, Vincent, a soldier stationed at Fort Campbell. Police say Jessie Goslyn implicated herself in the crime during a Saturday morning interview with police. The couple have three children, according to reports. The alleged accomplice, 24-year old Jarred Tabor Long of Grand Junction Colorado, has also been arrested and charged with murder, according to newspaper reports. (MRN) Image by (Simon Howden)

Pair arrested in Cadillac for organized theft

The Michigan State Police Cadillac post has arrested two suspects believed to be the leaders of an organized theft ring. The two suspects are 39 year old Jennifer Ann Sanborn and 33 year old Jeremiah Jason Grose. The pair was arrested on January 25th and face multiple counts of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property. Sanborn faces additional charges of Retail Fraud and Habitual Offender Fourth Offense. The two would target high dollar tools, equipment, and sporting items and often times walk right out the front door of the business they were robbing.

Monroe woman killed in Wexford Co. snowmobiling accident

A Monroe woman was killed in a snowmobile accident over the weekend in Wexford County. Sheriff Deputies say the accident happened Saturday, 49-year old Dawn Marie Bergmooser was driving with a small group of people when she lost control of the sled and struck a tree. Bergmooser was transported to Mercy hospital in Cadillac where she was pronounced dead. The incident is still under investigation.

State Troopers searching for armed robbery suspect in Manistee County

Michigan State Police Troopers are searching for a suspect who held up the Admiral Discount Tobacco store in Manistee with a semi automatic handgun Wednesday afternoon. Troopers say the suspect brandished a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. A clerk and two customers were in the store at the time of the robbery and were ordered to the floor but were unharmed. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a white male with a tan complexion, between 5'8-5'10 tall, 150lbs with possibly short blond hair and blue eyes.

South Boardman man arrested for running from police

On Sunday morning state police in Cadillac attempted to make a routine traffic stop. When the officers turned the lights on the driver did not stop. The troopers followed the car for about 10 miles down M-115 into Osceola County. When the driver finally came to a stop he was arrested. The 45 year old South Boardman man is currently lodged at the Wexford County Jail for OWI 3rd offense, Fleeing Police Officer 4th degree, Driving on a Suspended License and Possession of Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.

"Passed out" Cedar Springs man surprises Michigan State Troopers in Cadillac

Troopers arriving for duty around 5:30am Saturday at the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post were given a special delivery. Troopers say when they arrived for work they found that someone had spun some “donuts” in the parking lot and then attempted to drive across the front law of the Post but could not manage in the snow and the incline to get back on the highway and got stuck. When troopers arrived at the 2005 Saturn Vue they discovered the vehicle still running, in drive and the driver still inside passed out.

Cadillac man charged in deadly car accident

A 25 year old Cadillac resident was the cause of a deadly car accident in Cadillac on Tuesday. Michael Alan Brown ran his SUV into a car after running a stop sign causing the car to hit a house and killing both of its passengers. Brown was arraigned on two counts reckless driving causing death and two counts driving while intoxicated causing death related to Tuesday’s crash that killed 23-year old Joshua Lester and 24-year old Gary Helsel. All are 15-year felonies. A preliminary exam will be scheduled within 14 days. His bond was set at $500,000.

Cadillac man dies in two car accident in Wexford Co. Thursday night

A 75 year old Cadillac man died from injuries sustained in a car accident after he lost control of his vehicle while traveling southbound on M-115 near 29 Rd, slid sideways into the path of a 39 year old LeRoy woman who was traveling northbound. Michigan State Troopers say 39 year old Serena Kay Crawford was transported to Munson Medical Center where she was treated and released. The male driver, William Henry McRoberts initially refused treatment but was later transporter to Muson Medical Center where he later died. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
