Deputies arrest Middleton man for breaking into the Greenside Tavern

22-year old Middleton man Adam Jones has been arrested and arraigned after Isabella County Sheriff Deputes discovered him breaking into a Broomfield Township bar early Sunday morning. Police say they were alerted by the The Greenside Tavern alarm a little after 4a.m., when they arrived they discovered a broken window and the suspect inside. When deputies gave him verbal commands to come out of the building, he immediately hid behind the bar.  Deputies gave him ample opportunities to comply, but he refused to do so.

Update: Morton Twp. woman too drunk to care for child arraigned in Mecosta Co. Court

A 41-year old Morton Township woman has been officially charged with fourth degree child abuse (a misdemeanor) after police discovered she was too intoxicated to care for her 4-year old child. Michigan State Police Troopers say they received a call to respond to the residence Wednesday, once Troopers arrived they discovered Angela Blenman was passed out and the child neglected. Police subsequently arrested the woman and called Department of Human Services officials to remove the child from the home.

Suspect assaults officers during booking in Wexford Co.

A Corrections officer in Wexford County was treated and released from a hospital after being assaulted by an prisoner Sunday night. The Wexford County Sheriff's Department says the male suspect was being booked and started fighting with police officers. They say one deputy was bitten and additional charges will be filed against the suspect. it was later discovered that the suspect was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of arrest.

Big Rapids man arrested on drug charges

A Big Rapids man was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver in Mecosta County's 77th District Court. 35-year old Jason Dean White could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all counts. The charges stem from White's arrest on Thursday after the Central Michigan Enforcement Team received a tip. He is being held on $20,000 bond in the Mecosta County Jail.

18-year old Morley man arrested on charges related to Morley-Stanwood High School break-in

An 18 -year-old Morley man was arrested and arraigned in Mecosta Counties 77th District Court in relation to the breaking and entering of Morley-Stanwood High School earlier this month. Brian Michael Whipple is charged with unlawful entry and Larceny. He was released from Jail on $1000 cash bond pending further court action.

Howard City man turns self in after weekend hit and run

State Police say a 57-year old Howard City man Sunday has turned himself in and is cooperating with authorities for his involvement in a hit and run accident over the weekend in Montcalm County. Police say the 21-year old victim suffered serious injuries and is now in a Grand Rapids hospital. Troopers say the accident happened after nine Saturday night on Stanton Road, west of Jones Road in Pierson Township. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.

Police arrest 65-year old sex offender in Wexford Co.

A 65-year old Wexford Co. man who's criminal record spans over 39-years was arrested Wednesday after taking State Police on a foot chase. Police say they were conducting an investigation on the suspect who is a registered sex offender, currently on parole and non-compliant with the sex offender registry act. When troopers arrived to the suspect's last known address in South Branch Township they discovered the man had fled out the back door of the home.

Man arrested on Criminal Sexual Conduct charges in Reed City

A 27-year old registered sex offender is lodged at the Osceola County Jail without bond on charges of Criminal Sexual Conduct stemming from an incident with a 14-year old female at a Reed City Motel April 11th. Terry Dean Bigford was arrested by Reed City Police with help from Osceola and Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies.

Isabella Co. man pleads no contest to murdering wife

An Isabella County man accused of murdering his wife pleaded no contest to second degree murder. Jason Fish is accused of murdering Stephanie Fish last November and taking their 4-year old son. Her body was found hidden in their Lake Isabella home. Fish pleaded no contest to Second Degree Murder after taking a plea deal with prosecutors last week. Image by (Salvatore Vuono)

Marion man takes police on drunken high speed chase

A Marion man who took sheriff deputies in Montcalm County on a drunken high speed chase has been arraigned. Police say the incident happened Sunday around midnight when deputies attempted to pull over 53-year old Keith Mark Wondergem on Stanton road in Montcalm County. They say Wondergem got back in his vehicle during the stop and fled. Deputies followed him to Baldwin Heights Elementary school where the suspect drove on the lawn and then around the school's playground, eventually the Marion man crashed his car into a tree.
