Pair accused of making meth in Mecosta Co.

Two men in Mecosta County were arraigned on drug charges after being accused of operating a meth lab in Wheatland Township. 29-year old Gary Daniel Moore and 67-year old Ronald Thomas Harvey both of Remus were charged with operating or maintaining a laboratory involving methamphetamine. The pair were arrested over the weekend, they face up to 40-years in jail due to previous drug offenses. Moore and Harvey are being held on $50,000 bond each.

Meth Lab found in Evart

When Police in Osceola County went to a residence in Evart last night to assist on a call related to a search warrant...it quickly turned into a drug investigation. Police say while they were investigating they discovered controlled substances and other evidence at the home on 5 Mile Rd. The Traverse Narcotics Team was called in and they soon discovered two active one-pot meth labs and other items. The two people at home were arrested and could be officially arraigned today.

Montcalm Co. man in jail after police find large amount of weed in home

A Montcalm County man is in jail on drug charges after police found a large amount of marijuana in his home Thursday. Sheriff Deputies say 31-year old Jesse Cervantes of Vestaburg is charged with delivering and growing marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison, but Cervantes' sentence could be doubled because he is a habitual offender. He remains in jail on a $30,000 dollar bond.

Three arrested in drug bust at Montcalm Co. motel

Three people were arrested in a drug bust over the weekend in Montcalm County. Sheriff Deputies say the suspects were staying at the Flat River Inn in Greenville Saturday when they searched their room. Police say a male suspect had several outstanding warrants and some meth while the two other female suspects had more drugs, including meth, narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Two Children removed; Paris couple in jail on meth lab charges

A Green Township couple is in jail and two children removed from their Paris home after members of the Central Michigan Enforcement Team discovered a meth lab inside their residence Tuesday. 27-year old Brian Baker and 30-year old Sara Baker both of Paris were arraigned in Mecosta County District Court yesterday on nearly a dozen felony charges including operating a meth lab in the presence of a minor and operating a lab containing hazardous waste. The couple is in the Mecosta County Jail on $100,000 bond. The pair is expected to be in court June 19th.

Active meth lab discovered in Osceola Co.

An active meth lab was busted yesterday by the Traverse Narcotics Team in Osceola County. Officials from TNT say they discovered a one pot meth cooker and several firearms at a home in Dighton. Four people were at the residence at the time of the bust. They say one arrest was made and there could be more in the future. We'll have more on this story when it becomes available.

couple arrested for running a meth lab in Mecosta Twp

A Big Rapids man and a woman from Stanwood are in custody after being arrested Friday for running a meth lab in Mecosta Township. Authorities say 40-year old Russel Jacob Peacock and 45-year old Dana Lynne Chiclla-Romani have been charged with numerous felonies including operating and maintaining a controlled substance lab near a business, school or church, operating and maintaining a meth lab and delivering and manufacturing meth. The pair face up to 80 years in prison if convicted on all charges. The investigation was led by Central Michigan Enforcement Team.

Meth lab busted in Big Rapids

The Central Michigan Enforcement Team made a big bust in Big Rapids Thursday night. A man was pulled over for a traffic stop and the officers found meth and components used to manufacture meth. After interviewing the suspect police got a search warrant for 324. South State Street where they found meth and a meth lab components. As a result five people were arrested and each face 20 year felonies. They are currently being held at the Mecosta County Jail.

Seven arrested, arraigned in drug trafficking operation

After several months of investigation, seven people were arraigned in Mecosta County 77th District Court Thursday in connection with a drug trafficking operation in and around Big Rapids busted by the Central Michigan Enforcement Team and other local law enforcement Wednesday. Hersey residents 43-year old Becky Lynn Shananaquet has been charged with one count of conducting a criminal enterprise, two counts of delivering less than 50 grams of cocaine and two counts of conspiracy to deliver cocaine.

kids removed from home in Evart that had active meth lab

Three children are now safe after Osceola County sheriff deputies discovered them living in a home where an an active meth lab was found. The home is on 10 Mile Road just north of Evart. Two men are now in jail for an unrelated charge. Deputies say more arrests could be made in the future.
