Education task force meeting on Wednesday

State lawmakers are mostly away from the capitol for the next two months; however a 13-member education reform task force begins its summer meetings tomorrow. The task force was formed to take a long look at education policy and funding in Michigan. The panel includes legislators who are focused on everything from K-12, to community colleges, to higher education. The panel is bi-partisan, although republicans have a clear majority on the task force. The workgroup's first session is scheduled for Wednesday at 11am at the offices of the Michigan Municipal League. (MRN)
