A 23-year old Mount Pleasant man is in jail after police arrested him on burglary charges Friday. Michigan State Troopers say the homeowner was awaken after hearing the suspect, Kyle James Chaffee moving around in the house. Once Chaffee heard the homeowner he fled into the woods. Police say they caught Chaffee a half mile from the victims home. A search warrant was conducted at the suspects home and police found other stolen items as well. Chaffee has been charged with a handful of counts including 1st and 2nd degree home invasion as well as two counts of felony firearm.

A 36-year old man was arraigned on charges connected to a home invasion over the weekend in Osceola County. Troopers say the break-in happened Saturday at a home on US-10 near 190th Avenue in Richmond Township. When police arrived, they found Jason Bigger's moped and a bag nearby that had a controlled substance in it. Bigger was arrested and admitted to leaving the items at the scene.

A 31-year old Evart man was arrested on first degree home invasion charges after breaking into his ex-girlfriend's house and locking himself in the bathroom. State Police say the incident happened just after midnight this morning. They say a Reed City woman called police after returning home to find her ex-boyfriend had broken into her apartment and barricaded himself in the bathroom. Police say the suspect was also under the influence of the synthetic drug bath salts.

Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies are investigating a home invasion at a residence in Barryton that occurred over the last three weeks. Deputies say the homeowner returned to the residence after three weeks and discovered her stove and dryer were missing among other items. Two adults and a juvenile have been arrested and arraigned today for committing two Home Invasions in the early morning hours of Sunday. The Isabella Co. Sheriffs Department say the suspects, 18-year old Quentin Charles Parker from St. Louis, MI, 18-year old Kenneth James Malott Jr and a 14-year old juvenile both from Mt. Pleasant were looking for prescription drugs, cash and any other items of value. The first home they broke into was occupied by two individuals that were sleeping in the bedroom. No one was at the second home at the time of the break-in.

A 25 year old Reed City man was arraigned in Osceola County District Court Monday on felony Home Invasion charges in connection to a breaking and entering at a residence in Reed City last week. Joseph Eugene Meyers was discovered inside the home when the homeowner and her two children returned to the residence. He is currently lodged in the Osceola County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Barryton Police officers arrested 17-year old Antonio Jones of Big Rapids Tuesday on a four count felony warrant. Police Chief Casey Nemeth says Jones is charged with 2nd Degree Home Invasion, Larceny from a Building, Larcey of Weapons, and Felony Firearms. The warrant arrest stems from a break-in at a residence on Arthur Street in the Village of Barryton last July where a shotgun was stolen. The weapon was recovered during a drug raid last month on a residence in the 700 block of Marion Avenue in the City of Big Rapids.

Three teenage boys broke in to the Selma Township home in Wexford County Tuesday. Authorities say the suspects were looking for two handguns, both taken from the house. Officers say two of the teens took off when the homeowner arrived but she caught one of them fleeing. Police say the other two suspects were found without the guns on them, in an area about a mile away. Officers took all three suspects to the sheriff's department for questioning. Two suspects are being held in the Wexford County jail and one at family court awaiting formal charges.

Deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office were called to a reported home invasion and assault on 30th Avenue near Arthur Road early yesterday morning. Upon investigation, it was found the incident stemmed from an earlier assault which had occurred in Isabella County. An 18-year old man from Remus was arrested for home invasion and assault and battery near the scene. His name is being withheld until his arraignment and the incident remains under investigation.
