Lakeview woman charged with burglary

A 61-year old Mecosta County woman was arraigned on charges of home invasion after being accused of a burglary back in November. ​Juliana Nielsen of Lakeview, was charged with 2nd Degree Home Invasion. The charge stemmed from a November 11th burglary of a home in Wheatland Twp that was investigated by the Mecosta County Sheriffs Office.   Nielsen is being held in the Mecosta county Jail on $100,000 bond.

Police: Martiny Twp. break-in misunderstanding

Update: Deputies the home invasion that resulted in 8 hunting rifles being stolen was a misunderstanding. Police say the homeowners grandson from White Cloud took the guns for safe keeping. All but two guns have been recovered.

Stanwood man arraigned on burglary charges after Mecosta Co. home invasion

A Stanwood man was arraigned on first degree home invasion charges stemming from an incident in Mecosta County last month. 37-year old John Miesiacezk is accused of breaking into a home in Colfax Township when the homeowner found Miesiacezk in his residence and called police. The Stanwood man fled the home, a small amount of money was missing. Miesiacezk a habitual offender, faces life in prison if convicted.

Morley man arrested on home invasion charges

Police in Mecosta County arrested a Morley man who broke into a home in Mecosta Township Friday. Deputies say they got a call about a possible breaking and entering at home on Fillmore in Mecosta Township, when they got to the scene the 47-year old suspect was still in the home and he was arrested shortly after. He's being lodged at the Mecosta County Jail pending arraignment.

19-year old Stanton man in jail on burglary charges

A 19-year old Stanton man remains behind bars after his arrest on Sunday for a Home Invasion he committed over the weekend. Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputies encountered the Stanton man on Sunday in response to a report he was not wanted at the home of a relative on Evergreen Street in Sheridan. Four Reed City men arrested for armed home invasion

Three men and one juvenile were arrested in Reed City after they allegedly entered a home while armed, assaulting the homeowner and made off with some of the victim's property. State Police say it happened at a residence in Osceola County's Highland Township. They say the victim was taken to Mercy Hospital in Cadillac where he was treated for injuries sustained in the assault. Through an investigation, a search warrant was issued and executed at a residence in Reed City Tuesday. As a result, three men ages, 21, 20 and 17 were arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail.

Mt. Plesant man charged with home invasion

A 23-year old Mount Pleasant man is in jail after police arrested him on burglary charges Friday. Michigan State Troopers say the homeowner was awaken after hearing the suspect, Kyle James Chaffee moving around in the house. Once Chaffee heard the homeowner he fled into the woods. Police say they caught Chaffee a half mile from the victims home. A search warrant was conducted at the suspects home and police found other stolen items as well. Chaffee has been charged with a handful of counts including 1st and 2nd degree home invasion as well as two counts of felony firearm.

Suspect arraigned on home invasion charges in Osceola Co.

A 36-year old man was arraigned on charges connected to a home invasion over the weekend in Osceola County. Troopers say the break-in happened Saturday at a home on US-10 near 190th Avenue in Richmond Township. When police arrived, they found Jason Bigger's moped and a bag nearby that had a controlled substance in it. Bigger was arrested and admitted to leaving the items at the scene.

Evart man arrested for breaking into ex-girlfriend's home

A 31-year old Evart man was arrested on first degree home invasion charges after breaking into his ex-girlfriend's house and locking himself in the bathroom. State Police say the incident happened just after midnight this morning. They say a Reed City woman called police after returning home to find her ex-boyfriend had broken into her apartment and barricaded himself in the bathroom. Police say the suspect was also under the influence of the synthetic drug bath salts.

Mecosta Co. Deputies investigating a home invasion in Barryton

Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies are investigating a home invasion at a residence in Barryton that occurred over the last three weeks. Deputies say the homeowner returned to the residence after three weeks and discovered her stove and dryer were missing among other items.
