Economic recovery

There may be a light at the end of the tunnel for Michigan. A new economic report by Comerica Bank is forecasting Michigan’s economy should grow by three-percent or more this year and the state's unemployment rate will drop below 12.5 percent by the end of the year. Chief economist Dana Johnson says the auto industry appears to have made enough structural changes to become profitable, but auto manufacturing has shrunk too much to be able to power Michigan growth in the years ahead.
