Bernero takes on Wall Street

The democratic candidate for Governor continued his assault on Wall Street Thursday by repeating his plan to yank State Government investment dollars out of Wall Street banks and place them in a State owned bank.
Virg Bernero and his running mate Brenda Lawrence staged a media event in downtown Lansing to hear from residents who are struggling against the tough economy. The Lansing Mayor wants to create a State Government operated bank that would be more lenient on giving credit as he complains Wall Street is costing Michigan an economic recovery. Bernero says (quote) "Wall Street banks are not working with Michigan to stop foreclosures and protect home values, and they are preventing our small businesses from growing and creating jobs."
