"Non-Specific" bomb threat made on Ferris State's Big Rapids campus

Ferris State University Public Safety officials are investigating a “non-specific” bomb threat phone message that was received after 8 a.m. this morning (Thursday, Jan. 12) in the Business Office in the Timme Center for Student Services on the Big Rapids campus. According to a Ferris Officials, there were no details in the message as to time or location of the bomb threat. Also, there is no reason to believe that the threat is tied to any specific event or circumstance. Public Safety personnel are investigating. They also are conducting building searches across campus. Faculty, staff and students are directed to report any suspicious activity immediately to Public Safety at (231) 591-5000. The University has not closed any buildings at this time. (Ferris.edu)

You must be kidding....Why are classes not cancelled or buildings closed at this time? The safety of students and staff should be the most important thing here.
Most schools and universities take threats seriously and evacuate. Why not Ferris?
It concerns me that Ferris officials did not take more aggressive action because the threat was "nonspecific" and they felt that the threat was "not credible". An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure in my opinion. Ferris should take aggressive action whenever there is a threat to student/faculty/public safety, but they seem to have a problem doing that in my opinion.
