AG Schuette wants more police in Michigan
Thu, January 26, 2012

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette wants Governor Rick Snyder to spend $140-million-dollars to hire more police.
The money would come from the state's budget surplus and put 1,000 more officers on patrol statewide.
Schuette is also calling for 25-year mandatory sentences for four-time felony offenders and stiffer penalties for pubic officials convicted of crimes.
He was joined at a press conference in Lansing wednesday by Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee, Former Livonia Chief of Police Robert Stevenson, county prosecutors, and representatives from the Police Officers Association of Michigan and The Fraternal Order of Police. (MRN)
