Gary Rex Munger, 74 of Blanchard, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016.
Gary grew up in Edmore, eldest son of Rex and Dorothy (Wheeler) Munger. He married Betty Ann Decker September 17, 1960, daughter of Robert and Helen (Dargity) Decker of Blanchard. Four children were born to this union; Bradley Rex (Debbie) of Edmore, Brian (Kelly) of Zebulon, NC, Becky (Jade) Goodrich of Riverdale and Brenda (Stephen) Lint of Blanchard. Gary was a devoted Green Bay Packers Fan and it made his day when he watched his team beat Detroit at Lambeau Field from a sky box. Whatever Gary’s passion, building dune buggies from old Corvairs, restoring old Ford tractors, woodworking or fishing, he was in it all the way always explaining to Betty, “it only costs a little more to go first class.”
Gary will be greatly missed by his wife of 56 years, Betty; his children; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and brother, Dennis (Kim Swan) Munger of Freeland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Michael Munger of McBride, and sister, Karma Jean Petersen of Rockford.
Cremation will take place with a private family gathering to follow.
Gary’s family would like to thank those who aided in his care and rehabilitation this past year. A special thanks to the staff and doctor at The Laurels of Carson City as well as his many friends who phoned and visited.
