Reuben Earl Cook 6/19/1948 of Reed City MI, formerly of Burton, MI, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday August 14, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was a beloved husband; father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Reuben was born June 19, 1948 to William and Lillian Cook in Flint, MI where he graduated from Bentley Senior High School. Soon after graduation he joined the Army where he served as a mechanic in Germany. After he was honorably discharged from his service he began work at Fisher Body and was employed at the facility until its closure. He then began employment with General Motors of Flint until he fully retired. Upon his retirement he pursued his dream of moving to Reed City with the love of his life Carolyn (Jaco) Cook.
He truly loved his family, friends, being surrounded by nature and life. Reuben was deeply loved by his wife Carolyn, his family, friends and all those he touched in life. Reuben is survived by his wife Carolyn Cook, 6 children, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren 1 brother, 3 sisters and many nieces, nephews and friends. Reuben was preceded in death by his son Raymond Earl, his father William Julius Cook and his mother Lillian Pauline (Haase) Cook.
A memorial service to celebrate Reuben's life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 3pm at Charity Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.
