Mecosta County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident with injuries this morning at 11:24am. Deputies say the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Hoover Rd. when it went off the road and hit a large tree. The passenger, 22-year-old Jonathan Kleeves of Evart was able to exit the vehicle on his own. The driver of the vehicle, 28-year-old Joseph Hyden of Chase sustained serious injuries, was trapped inside the car, and had to be extracted by Big Rapids City Fire and Rescue. He was then transported by AeroMed to Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
