The State Senate has approved legislation that seeks to find out if toll roads might be viable in Michigan.
The proposal calls for M-DOT to find a firm that would craft a tolling feasibility study, but it wouldn't require lawmakers to act on any of the findings.
Although there are tolls for border crossings and some bridges, Michigan doesn't currently have any toll roads.
Lawmakers are looking at numerous options to solve the state's long-running problem of funding road repairs.
