An Osceola County man is recovering in the hospital after taking police on a chase through Evart.

It all happened last night when an Evart police officer was involved in a pursuit of a motorcycle for careless driving.

They say the motorcycle was traveling in excess of 50 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.

During the chase, the driver of the motorcycle crashed trying to negotiate the curves on 85^th Ave near River Rd.

The 38-year old Evart man is in serious but stable condition.

Police say he was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
