It was a scary situation for Chippewa Hills students Friday morning heading to school when a bus they were on was involved in an accident with another vehicle.

Deputies in Mecosta County say it happened at the intersection of 30th Avenue (M-66) and Arthur Road.

The driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Remus woman, was heading southbound on 30th Avenue when the school bus turned left in front of her. She tried to stop, but hit the back corner of the bus.

The driver of the car had the right of way and was not at fault.

The students and bus driver were not injured in the crash.

The driver of the car also did not have any injuries, but the minor child she had with her in the vehicle was transported to a hospital in Mount Pleasant for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash.
