We have an update to a story we reported to you about the structure fires around the Morley area here in Mecosta County and in northern Montcalm County Monday morning.

 

Detectives with the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office say they have a suspect in custody.

 

Detective Drew Neilsen says deputies arrested a 32-year old Howard City man in connection to the Deerfield Township arson's.

 

The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment.

 

Officials say the first fire started at a barn around 4:30am Monday morning at the 14000 block of Washington Road, just east of Morley. Then around 5:10 a.m. authorities received reports of a fully-engulfed trailer fire in the 11000 block of N. Green Road. There are also reports of fires near the intersection of 150th Avenue and Washington Road as well as near 160th Avenue and Eisenhower Road.

 

No one was injured in the fires.
