CMU offering online nursing program to combat shortage of nurses nationwide

Due to an increasing shortage of nurses, Central Michigan University is now accepting applications for their new online nursing program.

The aim of the program is to help working registered nurses achieve a bachelor degrees in 12 months or less.

Statistics show that nursing is one of the fastest growing industries and that by 2026 there will be a 15% increased demand for nurses.

Most hospitals are trying to increase the number of staff nurses with Bachelor's degrees to 80%.

Reports indicate that the nurse shortage affects rural areas the most.
