Just in: Six Amish children injured in vehicle/buggy accident

Six Amish kids were injured in a vehicle/buggy accident last night. 

 

Mecosta County Sheriff Deputies say it happened just after 10pm on 5 Mile Rd and 165th Ave. 

 

An investigation revealed a horse drawn buggy with eight occupants was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on 5 Mile Rd. 

 

Five of the children ranging in age from 1-6 years old are currently being treated at DeVos Children’s Hospital and are currently listed on fair condition.  

 

A 10-year old girl is being treated at DeVos Children’s Hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.

 

The driver of the vehicle, a 63-year old Cedar Springs man, was not injured. 

 

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
