Deputies with the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office believe alcohol was a factor in a one car accident early Sunday morning.

It happened at the intersection of 35th Avenue and 8 Mile Road in Remus.

Deputies say the driver, a 29-year old Remus man, was traveling southbound on 35th Avenue when his vehicle went off of the roadway, striking a tree.

The driver was taken to Spectrum Health Big Rapids for non-life threatening injuries.
