A 57-year old Grand Rapids-area man has died after a crash along U.S. 131.

The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department says 57-year old Fred Bender Junior of Sparta was killed when the pickup truck he was in went into the median of the freeway and rolled over Sunday morning.

The driver of the pickup, identified as 65-year old Steven Spring of Norton Shores was rescued from the truck and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation is underway to determine what caused the crash.
