Some new laws go into effect this new year.
The minimum wage goes up from $9.45 an hour to $9.65 and it's set to increase to $12.05 by 2030.
Internet gaming and sports betting are expected to go into effect by March. The Michigan Department of Treasury says the new gaming will add $19 million in revenue in the state and will increase the School Aid Fund by $4.8 million and the first-responder fund by $4 million.
Auto insurance reform will go into effect in July.
