The City of Big Rapids will be flushing fire hydrants to test flow and capacity, remove mineras and sediment
that build up over time in the water system and to insure good working order of the hydrants.

Flushing is scheduled for February 27th , 2020, February 28th , 2020 and March 2nd , 2020.

Low pressure, discoloration, or cloudiness are possible following hydrant flushing in your area. Generally, this will clear up by running cold water for several minutes. Although the water is considered safe to use during this time, customers should refrain from doing laundry when water is discolored.

Water from the hydrant may be on the streets and sidewalks in the immediate vicinity of the testing area.
Drivers and pedestrians should proceed cautiously in these areas.
