Driver of 2015 Chevy was Patrick Bailey, Serious but Stable Condition

 

 

A Big Rapids woman died from injuries sustained in a head on car accident while the second driver involved is in critical condition at a Grand Rapids hospital.

 

Osceola County Sheriff Ed WIliams says it happened just before 5:30pm Thursday on Old-131 between Meceola Rd and 1 Mile Rd. in Richmond Township.

 

Willams says a 26-year old Big Rapids woman driving a 1995 Chevy Pickup was north bound on Old-131 when she lost control and crossed the center line hitting head on with a south bound vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The south bound vehicle a 2015 Chevy Pickup was operated by a 44-year old Big Rapids man. He was
transported to Butterworth Hospital for severe injuries and remains in critical condition.

An occupant in the north bound vehicle were taken to Reed City Hospital and released shortly after being cleared from the ER.

 

Police believe weather conditions were a factor in this crash.
