The FDA has pulled their approval of the drugs chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, once believed to be potential cures for COVID-19.

In a strong statement, the FDA’s chief scientist says it is not likely these drugs are effective, and the latest studies show potential benefits don’t outweigh the potential risks.

At one point the president claimed to have taken hydroxychloroquine for a two week period which created an increase in the demand of the drug.

The FDA wants to make sure enough of the drug is available for its true purposes of helping those with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
