A Freeland man is dead following a two vehicle accident in Osceola County Monday evening.

 

Sheriff Ed Williams said in a press release that Richard Henry Barton was traveling eastbound on 3 Mile Rd just after 6:15pm when he disregarded the stop sign on 3 Mile at 30th Ave.

 

He then collided with a dump truck that was traveling northbound on 30th Ave.  

 

Barton was flown from the scene to a Grand rapid Hospital where he later died from his injuries.  

 

The driver of thedump truck was not injured.  

 

This is an ongoing investigation but speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors.
