Tax season kicks off Feb. 12th

The Michigan Department of Treasury says it will start processing individual income tax returns next Friday, February 12th.

It's the same processing date as the IRS. State Treasurer Rachel Eubanks said in a statement that the IRS pushed back the date because of software updating and testing.

All state income tax returns and tax payments must be submitted by April 15th.
