A science professor at Ferris State University has been fired after using racist, antiSemitic and homophobic slurs months ago on Twitter.

Reports say Thomas Brennan, who claimed sinister forces were targeting him and breaking into his home, made the announcement on Twitter Saturday.

Ferris State later confirmed his dismissal but declined to comment further.

The university's student run newspaper first reported about the tweets in November. Brennan was put on administrative leave at the time.

He expressed remorse for the tweets and said they were a consequence of self-destructive behavior.
