Michigan roads are expected to fill up with vacationers, as today marks the start of the Independence Day weekend travel.
Triple-A says travel volumes for the holiday will be one of the highest on record, with 1.5 million Michigan residents taking a trip this weekend.
Analysts say drivers will experience the worst congestion heading into the holiday weekend as commuters leave work early, between 3pm and 6pm tomorrow.
The return trip around mid-day Monday also expected to be one of the busiest times on the road.
