District Health Department #10 said it wont be issuing a universal mask mandate for schools in its district.

This following some health departments in northern Michigan issued mandates last week.

DHD#10 serves Crawford, Kalkaska, Lake, Manistee, Mason, Mecosta, Missaukee, Newaygo, Oceana and Wexford counties.

The health department said each school system and childcare setting in its district must determine the best course of action based on local data and case trends, as well as impacts to families and staff.
