Nurses at McLaren Central in Mount Pleasant have voted to authorize a potential strike.
In doing so, they joined nurses at MyMichigan Alma, which also voted to provide their elected bargaining team with the ability to call for a strike. The Michigan Nurses Association says the votes come despite McLaren threatening nurses with the loss of healthcare and even their jobs should they strike.
The union says a 10-day notice would be provided before any strike begins at either hospital.
Nurses at both facilities have been working under expired contracts since November.
