A large-scale fire broke out at the Dan's Excavating Services complex in Grant Township on Thursday night.
According to multiple reports, over 16 fire departments from 16 West Michigan municipalities responded to the blaze due to the fire's intensity and wind gusts of over 40 mph.
The building was reported to be fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene and even explosions were heard, possibly from equipment like tires within the building. Fortunately, the fire was put out in just about one hour and there were no reported injuries.
Dan’s Excavating Services is located right next to Grant High School and across the street from Grant Middle School. According to a Facebook post by Dan’s, the business is open today.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
