Mike Avery

Since growing up in West Michigan, Mike has had a fishing rod, shotgun or bow in his hand as long as he can remember. Later, he was able to turn the love for the outdoors into a career in broadcasting.

Avert started out as a news reporter and videographer for a local TV station many years ago. Eventually, that experience evolved into the Outdoor Magazine TV show. After many years in TV, he turned his focus on the Outdoor Magazine radio show and podcast.

Since 1992, Avery has shared stories of the history and tradition of the outdoor lifestyle in the great state of Michigan.
