One of the top fabric and crafts stores, Joann, will be closing various stores across Michigan as part of its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. This includes the store in Big Rapids at 1250 W. Perry Ave.

Joann plans to close about 500 of its roughly 800 to 850 nationwide stores. Michigan specifically will see 33 out of its 40 stores close their doors during its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process.

The announcement was made on Thursday, Feb. 12. The exact timing for each store's closing date and liquidation sales period have not been announced.
