Reed City Police: Weekly Blotter (2/3 - 2/9)

Monday, Feb. 3
  • An officer responded to a call about a possible fraud complaint regarding rental housing over Facebook. The matter is under investigation. Do not pay for any legitimate services using Apple or gaming prepaid cards, as it is usually an overseas scam and the money is generally not recovered.
  • Officers transported an individual to the hospital for a court ordered mental health evaluation.

Tuesday, Feb. 4

  • An officer was dispatched to check on a 77-year-male after medical staff received an alert from the device that his internal pacemaker had shocked his heart approximately 10 times. Upon arrival, the man was discovered to be deceased. The death is believed to be of natural causes.

  • An officer arrested a 64-year-old male on an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Osceola County Jail with no incident.

  • Officers transported a 42-year-old male from the Muskegon County Jail to the Osceola County Jail without any incidents.

Wednesday, Feb. 5

  • An officer served a trespass notice to an individual after a verbal family dispute.
  • An officer responded to a call from someone that reported seen an older man walking north on Patterson Rd. by Professional Dr. He had a cane and did not look like he was dressed for the weather. The officer was unable to locate anyone matching the description.

Thursday, Feb. 6

  • An officer transported a 40-year-old female that was held at Wexford County Jail on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear in court. She was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
    An officer was dispatched to a construction sign that had blown into the road from strong winds. The sign was removed from the road.

Friday, Feb. 7

  • An officer was dispatched to the report of a criminal sexual conduct. The matter was determined to have happened in the county and was turned over to the Osceola County Sheriff's Department.

  • An officer was dispatched to take a report about some property damage to a vehicle.
    Officers transported a 28-year-old male from Muskegon County Jail and transported him back to the Osceola County Jail on outstanding warrant without any issues.

Saturday, Feb. 8

  • Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic assault. The officer responded locally to keep the peace, until deputies could arrive to investigate the assault that occurred on the road between Reed City and Evart.

  • An officer was dispatched to investigate a possible felonious assault by a teen against their parents. The matter has been referred to the prosecutor and probate court.
    An officer responded to a call regarding a disorderly behavior at the Reed City Depot. The individual was issued a trespassing notice. No issues.

Sunday, Feb. 9

  • An officer assisted a parent that came into the department to report that his teen daughter was involved in a fight with another teen at school.

  • While patrolling, an officer noticed the door of a local business was unlocked. He secured the building and locked the door.
