It was a tale of two different results for both rivals within the Battle of Meceola on Monday night, as one team triumphed onward in the District 35 quarterfinal rounds while the other was knocked out earlier than they hoped.

In game one at 5:30 P.M., Reed City fell to former conference foe Fremont 70-59. The Coyotes trailed by six after the opening frame but will fall behind even more each quarter thanks to the Packers' extra effort on offensive rebounds. While the lead was once 20 in the fourth quarter, Reed City mounted a small comeback effort to cut the lead to around eleven with two minutes to go, until the Packers ran the clock and the Coyotes' win chances to zero.

Landon Jackson led the Coyotes with an estimated 19 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Payton Gogolowski registered around eight points for Reed City as well as Asher Ducham and Gabe Young adding six. The Coyotes finish the season with a 5-18 record.

In game two at 7:00 P.M., Big Rapids completed a three-game season sweep over the hosting Lions with a dominant 74-42 win. The Cardinals jumped out ahead in the opening minutes, earning a comfortable 36-18 lead at halftime. Big Rapids would finish the game strong with an incredible effort in transition offense and defense, leading to their largest win of the season against Newaygo.

Ty Gielczyk was the leading scorer with 19 points for Big Rapids while also tallying eight rebounds. Cole Haist contributed 14 points for the Cardinals while Liam McLaughlin had 11. Big Rapids will move on to face number two seed Hart in the District 35 Semi-Final on Wednesday night at 7:00 P.M.
