On Tuesday, Feb. 25 at approximately 12:56 P.M., Mecosta County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a “Be on the Look Out”, or "BOLO," for a reckless, high-speed driver going southbound on US-131 near 8 Mile Rd.
Reports say that the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed and was passing people on the right shoulder of the roadway.
Deputies then located the vehicle on US-131 near the Morley exit. As deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver continued and created a pursuit down US-131 through Montcalm County and into Kent County.
Subsequently, deputies terminated the pursuit but were later informed that Michigan State Police Troopers from the Grand Rapids Post and City Officers from Walker Police Department were able to stop the vehicle a short time later.
The driver was arrested and lodged in Mecosta County Jail after being turned over Mecosta County Deputies.
Deputies were assisted by Meceola Central Dispatch, Michigan State Police of Grand Rapids, and Walker Police Department.
