Reed City Police: Weekly Blotter (2/17 - 2/23)

Monday, Feb. 17

  • Officers were dispatched to a teen who had left without parents’ permission. The teen was found at a friend’s house that they were not permitted to be at and returned home.

Tuesday, Feb. 18

  • An officer provided traffic safety for a broken-down vehicle in the travel lane until a tow truck could remove it.

Wednesday, Feb. 19

  • An officer was dispatched to a family argument. No assault occurred.

Thursday, Feb. 20

  • An officer was dispatched to a domestic assault after a teen assaulted his parents. The matter has been turned over to the prosecutor.

Friday, Feb. 21

  • An officer took a report of a stolen semi-trailer. Upon investigation, it was determined to have been taken from a distribution lot by mistake. The owner was advised of the matter and that their trailer was in Indiana.

  • An officer was dispatched to do a wellbeing check on a mother and child. Both were found to be okay.

  • An officer assisted the sheriff department on a burglar alarm call. It was believed to have been activated by a stray cat.

Saturday, Feb. 22

  • An officer was dispatched to a two-car crash at the intersection of Chestnut St. and Church St. One driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital for possible minor injuries and that driver’s car had to be towed from the scene. The other driver reported no injuries and was able to drive their vehicle away with minor damage.

  • An officer was dispatched to a possible larceny. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a civil dispute between three siblings over property of a deceased parent. Shortly after, the officer was also advised that a well being check had been called in by one of the other siblings regarding children and living conditions. The officer found the children and living conditions to be fine.

Sunday, Feb. 23

  • An officer was dispatched to the hospital regarding a disorderly intoxicated person who was refusing to leave. The individual was eventually able to get a ride home without further incident.
  • Officers transported a 47-year-old man from Ionia County Jail to the Osceola County Jail on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.
