On Thursday, Feb. 28 at approximately 11:21 A.M., deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office responded to southbound US-131 just north of 8 Mile Rd. for a rollover accident.

The vehicle was driven by a 27-year-old male from Chicago, Ill. The driver lost control due to black ice and left the roadway, striking the exit sign and rolling over. Two passengers, a 55-year-old male and a 31-year-old male from Chicago, were transported to Corwell Health for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies were assisted by Mecosta County EMS and Mecosta Township Fire.
