According to a recent notice, there will be a road closure scheduled on Woodward Avenue for Monday, April 20.

This closures coincides with the installation of a new culvert at the 1200 block of Woodward Avenue. The project is estimated at about $500,900 and includes 0.16 mile of new asphalt paving, culvert replacement, guardrail and permanent pavement markings. The closure will last until June 26.

Construction will begin in the area one week prior on April 13 for tree cutting and mobilization, but will not require a full closure. 

"Local access to homes will be maintained as much as possible throughout the project," Big Rapids Department of Public Works said. "Temporary disruptions to driveway access are necessary and affected residents will be notified directly in advance."

Traffic detours will utilize State Street, W. Madison Street, and 220th Avenue. A detour map provided by the City of Big Rapids can be found here: WOODWARD CULVERT CONSTRUCTION DETOUR MAP.
