On Thursday, July 23, 2026, an 18-year-old was taken to the hospital following a motorcycle crash in Mecosta County.

The Mecosta County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to McKinley Road and 157th Avenue in Colfax Township around 6:11 p.m. It was found that an 18-year-old man from Stanwood was travelling along 157^th Avenue, and took the curve on M-20 too fast. He then lost control and went into the ditch.

"The driver (suffered) non-life-threatening injurys to the left ankle and foot," the Sheriff's Office said. "(He) was taken by family members to Big Rapids Hospital." 

Deputies were assisted by Meceola Central Dispatch.
