Elk Township Fire Protection & Emergency Services Operations Millage Renewal Proposal

Elk TWP

  • Shall the previously voted increase in the tax rate limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on general ad valorem taxes in Elk Township of 1.00 mills ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value), as reduced to 0.9511 mills ($0.9511 per $1,000 of taxable value), by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at 0.9511 mills ($0.9511 per $1,000 of taxable value), and shall Elk Township levy such millage annually for five (5) years, 2027 through 2031, inclusive, on all taxable property for the purpose of providing fire protection and emergency services operations within Elk Township?

  • If approved and levied, this millage would raise an estimated $105,385 in the first year of the levy. All or a portion of the revenues from this millage will be disbursed to the Sauble-Elk-Eden Fire Department or other governmental agency for fire protection and emergency services operations within Elk Township.
