Starting Monday, Aug. 3, MDOT will experience some road construction throughout Big Rapids and surrounding areas in part of a statewide, crack seal maintenance project.

Sections of Big Rapids that will experience some lane closures include the following:

• Perry Ave (M-20) from US-131 to State Street
• State Street (M-20/US-131 BR) from south of 14 Mile Road to just south of W Spruce Street
• Maple Street (M-20) from State St to just east of New Millpond Road

The total project will replace about 160 miles of road with hot mix asphalt crack seal treatment along various state truckline. Total cost will be about $460,000 and will include portions of M-82, M-66, M-46, M-20, US-10, M-61, US-131 BR, and M-37.

Final completion for all roadways will be before October. The Big Rapids projects will last until about mid-August.
