One of Reed City’s longest-running restaurants is now on the market.

According to co-owner Hal Clementshaw, H&D Chuckwagon will close its doors on Aug. 30, 2026.

“We've decided it was time to retire,” Clementshaw said. “We are really happy with how the community has supported us, especially through COVID-19.”

Located along U.S. 10 just east of US-131, the Chuckwagon was established in 1996 by Clementshaw and Dawn Anderson. The restaurant has been known for its “hearty” breakfasts, including oversized doughnuts and baked goods.

The 6,000-square-foot restaurant building sits on approximately six acres. The initial listing price is $369,000. The sale includes real estate only; restaurant equipment and furnishings may be available separately.

According to Results Real Estate broker Tricia Wirth, the property is on prime highway frontage.
