The Michigan Department of Transportation will be hosting an open meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 18, in Rogers Heights.
This meeting will discuss the future of the intersection of Northland Drive (Old US-131) and 8 Mile Road near Stanwood. According to MDOT, options such as a four-way stop and a roundabout have been discussed as potential options.
It will take place at Mecosta Township Hall on 11 Mile Road from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Since the beginning of 2026, there have been at least three crashes at the intersection that have led to at least one person being taken to the hospital.
