Michigan State Police reported that all three missing tubers who went missing on a Muskegon River tubing trip have been safely located as of 4:36 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7.
Jazman Hock (28), Sarah Vida (28) and Kayden Kovalcik (9) were located about three-quarters of a mile northeast of the Mill Iron Road Boat Launch in the woods. They were last seen on Tuesday at the Maple Island Boat Launch, about an 8-mile float away.
“This is the outcome everyone involved had hoped for,” Michigan State Police said. “We are incredibly grateful for the tireless efforts of the many law enforcement agencies, fire departments, emergency responders, search and rescue teams, and volunteers who dedicated countless hours to this search.”
Investigators found what was believed to be their tubes on Thursday, Aug. 6, as well as a set of footprints linked to the tubers. Aerial, ground and water search resources were used to locate them nearly 24 hours later.
No additional information has been released at this time.
